Depending on the number of bathers using the facility and other factors, the sensors need to be cleaned frequently. Turn off your controller and all feeds first and that entails shutting off the flow cell valves, manually unscrewing the sensors from the flow cell, and then disconnecting the connectors. In order to keep the tip of your sensors wet, carefully place them into a clean container with water.
Just carefully clean the white ring and the tips of the sensor (at the bottom) with ordinary toothpaste and a gentle toothbrush. A mild degreasing detergent should be used to scrub away any oil or calcium buildup. After cleaning, rinse the probes in your container's clean water. Reinstall the sensors using simply hand tightening and new Teflon tape in its place. You must manually test and balance your water once you've reconnected to the controller.
